Radon Testing
- Radon is a naturally occurring, orderless
radioactive gas that enters buildings from the
ground. It is the second leading cause of lung
cancer, after smoking. Five to ten percent of
the homes in Wisconsin have elevated radon
levels on the main floor. Homes with high
levels are found in all regions of Wisconsin.
The levels vary greatly within neighborhoods,

Environmental Lead Testing
- If you are planning to do home repairs or renovation on
your home built BEFORE 1978 - call the Green County
Health Department at 328-9390 for a FREE lead consult. - Free home testing for lead hazards is available when a
child residing in the home is identified with an elevated
lead level
- Will submit crows, ravens and blue jays to the
Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene for testing as
appropriate. - Contact the Green County Health Department

Rabies Testing
- Follow-up conducted on all animal bite orders
- Testing of wild animals if the animal has bitten
